Meet Teddy, a gorgeous Boxer and Shepherd Mix, approximately 9 months old and full of energy! Teddy weighs 55 lbs already, so yes, he is going to be a big boy, but that just means there will be more of him to love!
He lived with a 9-year-old girl and they adored each other until he had to be surrendered. Currently, he lives with his 82-year-old foster mom who has been rescuing dogs her whole life. She says Teddy is a sweet boy who just wants to play with other dogs and be loved by children and adults. At 82, his foster mom does not have the energy that a puppy requires, but wants to find a wonderful loving family for Teddy. Ideally, Teddy would like to live with a high-energy family. He would love a large fenced in yard with lots of toys and people or other dogs to play with and a big fluffy dog bed inside to sleep on.
One of the best things I personally ever did was to enroll my two pups into a dog-training program. It brought us closer together and taught them that I was the one in charge. Considering my oldest dog is 90 pounds, I needed him to respect my commands.
For Teddy and his new family, I highly recommend taking a dog training class together. It will be a great opportunity for the entire family to bond with Teddy and for him to learn who is in charge and how to focus his energy. If you want to crate train him, a trainer will help you accomplish this goal and since Teddy is motivated by treats, it will be much easier.
Teddy is almost completely housebroken – he’s at 90%. Considering he is only 9 months old, he is right on track. We are not quite sure if he loves cats, but we know he loves other dogs, if they are nice to him, and he’s not shy, nervous or mouthy. (I wish I could say that about my pups!) He will make a wonderful best friend for anyone and their family. Teddy is up to date on his vaccinations and he is already neutered, so he is ready to go home immediately!
Teddy is available for adoption through the Marion Animal Resource Connection, in Jasper, TN. better known as MARC.
